I made a nice discovery about my speed queen series 8. I have been mostly pleased with its cleaning ability and short cycle times. Although at times I am in need of a longer wash time. Yes, I could use prewash, and I do. But I can’t use fabric softener during that cycle as it dispenses during the wrong time.

Anyways, I’ve discovered that after the wash cycle has started and quite some time after wash cycle has started, I press the power off button and it will restart the cycle from the beginning without draining everything and starting from scratch. Now I can get en extra 10 min of agitation that I need for really dirty work clothes.

I am pleased with everything else. Especially since I hear my in laws complain about how their new Maytag top loader that takes an hour and a half to wash a load. Coincidentally they ordered this machine the same week as I ordered mine. I tried to convince them to order a speed queen. It was out of their budget as retirees and they had a credit to Home Depot. They are kicking themselves.

Enjoy the sun everyone!
