Hi Jason, You need to replace the transmission, back in the day when GE FFs were popular GE had a great program of affordable rebuilt transmissions readily available for their washers. This was the only thing that made these washers a viable machine because the majority of GE AWs had at least one replacement transmission in its life, unlike any other brand of AW where a transmission was almost never replaced in it serviceable life time.
GE FF AWs were very much like VW cars with air-cooled engines where the engine was a major weak point, but again because on VWs it was so easy to replace the engine people often kept them on the road a long time.
