I have a vintage 102P Maytag automatic washer in my possession. I picked it up at a property in South Lake Tahoe California. It belonged to one owner and appears to be in great condition. Would like to see it go to someone close to us in Sacramento California, but we are willing to part it out to anyone who’s interested.

Hi there - if you don't get any bites on someone local, I'd be interested in some parts. Feel free to email me (address in profile).

Thanks,

Ben

No horrific rust, especially the lid. Bottom of tub still shiny. No apparent "moving trauma". Might clean up well. Mine works fine and is a real tank.

My aunt had the same model and kept it until she went in assisted living in the late 80's. Far as I know she never had any big problems with it. I remember that hers had the big clunk going into spin/drain after wash or rinse, same as my 511 does.

WOW! That is amazing longevity! How many loads per week did it turn out?

I doubt my aunts ever did more than 1 load a week its entire life. Then again, my 1984 511 rarely does more than 1 load a week since I retired.

I emailed the owner and hope she responds — it’s in Sacramento only a two-hour drive away..!

I hope you can save it! Sounds like it was going to get scrapped out otherwise!!! I'd bet there aren't too many like that still around.
