Greetings!

Would members please give info about this Maytag washer? About what year is it? Is it a reliable machine? The agitator is white instead of turquoise, what does that mean?

I bought it for $100 delivered and installed. The seller told me it's a belt drive machine... is that true?

Please let me know what you guys think!

Thanks,
Gabe in South Florida

a little odd, but OK...after all, you already bought it, good or bad, its yours now...all in all, still a heavy duty machine....

this is from around the 90's....with the model and serial numbers, we could pin point it down to the exact month and year built...

white or turquoise agitator, really doesn't matter as both styles came in those colors...both referred to as a powerfin…..

what you have there is the short base agitator, which of course is matched to the short stroke orbital transmission versus the pitman long stroke, paired to a wider base powerfin…..

some have even paired the wide base to the orbital tranny....it does give it a bit more kick....as in this vid

yes, they still used a two belt design on this machine....

good machines, though usually best to slightly underload for best rollover.....or switch out for a LoadSensor agitator with the spirals.....but I cant tell if you have a standard capacity or an exlarge one....

Thanks Yogi! I appreciate your info. Mom has a Maytag dryer which looks almost the same, but the control panel is two-tone dark brown and gold. I will take a pic of the serial number on this washer later. I got this unit for mom, since she always liked Maytags and misses the NON-HE washers.

I really appreciate your help! I hope mom's going to be happy with this one. Please keep in touch!

Gabe :)
