My Aunt Doris had a Tappan cooktop (Pink) that had the controls along the right side. It was original to their 1962 house. | ||

My mom had that Tappan (branded Youngstown-Tappan) cooktop in coppertone--had 7 fixed heat switches. Wasn't a bad cooktop, a little tough to clean as the top was fixed. She had a little trouble finding a replacement when they redid the kitchen--I seem to recall helping her shop and there was a Maytag and a Kitchenaid (Chambers) which would plug-and-play and a Frigidaire perhaps too. I think the Kitchenaid had a slightly higher output burner than the Frigidaire so she got that.
