Singer did not produce washing machines of their own, but slapped their brand onto something made by someone else.

Looks like it might be a McClary Easy....

Made by GSW. I found this thread below and the one in the pic is pretty spot on besides the controls. Wonder if it was produced for Singer by GSW or if GSW licensed the name?

Thinking about it, Singer's brand awareness was pretty blockbuster in the 1940s-60s - I bet 1/2 the households in North America owned a Singer sewing machine of some variation. This awareness was likely especially powerful amongst the demographic that would purchase a wringer washer and so it kinda makes sense that some marketing exec came up with the idea.

Singer also had the time-payment process (down payment plus weekly payments) down-pat in this era--IDK the situation in Canada, but until about 1960 JCPenney was cash only; there wasn't such a thing as "rent to own" and Singer at least had some rational connection with laundry.
