Did a load and when I returned there was water running on the floor from under the washer. The next morning I tried to start it to see where the water was leaking from but the washer now will not start. It just buzzes when I pull the timer to start. The inside is now dry and the bottom damp so I can’t tell where it is leaking from. I spun the main pulley and the drum turns.
I could not find a factory tag with it’s model numbers. A few years ago I found two things which may be my model.
Maytag Speed Queen, Marathon NA5721W, Hinge 27626
There was a parts like which seemed like for my model. It was for Model AA4211.
Any suggestions on how to proceed. I can do basic electric troubleshooting. Given the age of the machine is it work working on? I’m reluctant to buy a new one. My daughter bought a pricey new one and had nothing but trouble with it and ever expensive repairs.

Your machine may date back to the period when tub seal failure was common for Speed Queen machines.  It sounds like the seal may have failed and shorted out the motor.  If you can do a search here, you should be able to find past discussions about this.

I have not been back home for several days. Maybe the motor could dry out and work again but I doubt it. I guess with the buzz and leak it is probably to expensive to get fixed. Over the years it has been reliable. I think it broke a belt once or maybe it was just the belt needed adjustment. I adjusted it 2 or 3 times over the years.
I searched on SQ tube leaks but most of those are in much newer machines. Mine was ancient. I got it about 15 years ago from a friend that owned for a long time.
I don't have any pictures of it. There is nothing to see other than to clarify the model is the numbers I gave for it are not useful.
Does SQ sell a similar model like the older 20+ top loaders they used to make?

probably a "marathon"

if washer has holes in the washbasket and is 30+ years old it is a "marathon"-problem might be something simple like pressure switch hose coming off :)I have 3 marathons in my collection:'82 and 2x 1984s,i could get the model # of one of them if you need.

Pictures of washer. I just returned home after several days away starting with when the washer quit. I tried to start it thinking the buzz sound might have gone away now that the washer is fully dry. Nope, it will only make a buzzing noise.
