Hey guys,
There is a Whirlpool Catalyst with digital controls on Facebook for $110. The guy says that the machine doesnt drain. I read in a few posts that the diverter valve is NLA. Is the machine worth saving at that price and how hard is it to find the diverter valve?
Thanks in advance for any reply

I found a used valve on eBay several months ago.  It happens, must be patient.

Thinking twice

I went and looked at the machine looks like water has been in the machine for quite a while. Also the tub looks as though there are rust streaks going down the inside. I have a feeling I will have a lot more work ahead of me.

Machine pics

Was able to get 2 pics of the machine. It still has water in it and not sure what to do. Anyone think it’s salvageable?

Any thing is fixable if you want to spend enough time and MONEY on it. If you are looking for a bargain I would skip this washer, the control boards and membrane control panels on these washers were terrible, I have not seen a working one out in the field for many years, I you want a catalyst WP-KM look for one of the rare models that has a mechanical timer.

I see a lot of rust on that machine. Could be even a lot more under the skirt. Don't walk but run from this machine, especially for that money.
