Cool is better than warm with fridges, BUT this is a gas refrigerator and they are great room heaters. On the other hand, they did not have a lot of reserve cooling capacity so putting her out in a hot garage would not bode well for her performance, either. She's sort of like a trophy wife who does not like sex.

Those are RARE as hen's teeth!  Somebody needs to save this.  Many of these were recalled and scrapped. The Few survivors are definitely something to be saved.

It uses water, ammonia, and hydrogen mixed together to create a single-pressure absorption cycle system.

I am not able to view the Craigslist contact info for some reason. Someone needs to save the contact info incase this gets pulled from CL due to a possible bullshit recall.

SERVEL

My Grandmother's next door neighbor had a Servel gas refrigerator. That's the only one I remember seeing as a kid

My parents had a late 30’s early 40’s Servel gas refrigerator from about 1952 to 55. My Mom still talked about how much she liked that little Servel for the rest of her life. And when I was a teen some of our neighbors down the road had a Servel of the same vintage, converted to run on propane. Back then it wasn’t uncommon to have several day power outages on the Northern Calif. Coast. The Hanson’s would be the only people on the ridge that had a working refrigerator. And when the house was sold a few years ago, that old Servel was still running!
