I'm hoping someone can help with this. I have had no problem finding dates for my '63 coldspot and my "47 GE, but I'm having no luck whatsoever trying to help a friend date an obviously early 1960's GE fridge. I have hit all of my usual spots for this info, but the YY prefix is the problem. The photo of the info plate is very clear so I know that I haven't made a mistake on the numbers. Thanks in advance for any help.

The serial# is YY620980
The model# is TB 14SABY

The 'YY' as a prefix and and the 'Y' at the end of the model number suggest 1964 to me.

If you could post a picture of the refrigerator, that would help.

Establishing a new romantic attachment at an older age is difficult and you are also entering inter-appliance type relationship. I wonder if there is a support group somewhere?

If he/she is that cold, I'd bail out of the relationship.

Lol, no matter how I phrased it, the question just came out sounding weird. Thanks :o). I’ll post a photo.

I can't find the exact model or model number in any of my literature, but my guess is you've got a 1965; maybe a 1966

I'd have to say it's a 1964 model. The style would be just right for that year.

Now, if only I could find one like this in turquoise!!

According to my GE Fridge literature X = 1963

So your fridge with model number ending in Y does mean its 1964 model PAT COFFEY

I too had trouble dating a 60's fridge. She was frigid.
