If you want to switch detergents frequently, you would want multiple cartridges plus an empty spare one. Keep in mind that switching detergent would need you to flush the system and then reset all the dosages. So just finding one thing and setteling for that would seem the best option... |

Is dear; trust me I know. *LOL*
Quite frankly shipping anything out of most of Europe is rather pricey. One did catch a break when recently ordered a small part for my AEG washer. Home Spares uses some sort of bulk shipping to USA, then things are resent along it seems. So wasn't paying 30 Euros in shipping for a $10 USD part. |

Take it to mean the replacement bottles are universal, that is it doesn't matter what one puts into them, detergent, fabric softener, oxygen bleach or whatever. Only obvious difference is one canister has "1" while the other "2".
To make the switch between two different fabric softeners one supposes the washer must have programming capability that allows user to choose which container it draws from at the time. |

Yes, the non-US models allow the user to set what's in the cartridge individually.

I was wondering why the user refillable cartridges weren't available in America. Perhaps Miele foresaw the scenario of a someone filling one of the cartridges with chlorine bleach... |

IIRC OP or someone else in this thread mentioned Miele USA does have the empty cartridges in stock, but haven't been given the go ahead from Germany to begin sales.
As to what is the hold up, only Miele knows and thus far aren't telling. Could be something to do with legal/liability issues, different programming for North American machines, and or any other host of things. What is clear and well known to Miele is that Americans are a rather legal happy lot, and laws tend to favor consumers. Just look at how Maytag was raked over the coals about "moldy" washers because owners of Neptune washers simply refused to leave the door ajar. Yes, there were other issues but design changes addressed; fact still remains you cannot leave a front loading washer shut up after use and not expect things to get whiffy inside. |

For other scents and fabric types - I simply shut off the twindos and use powder, or another liquid.
Swapping twindos liquid on this thing frequently is a chore. I find the kids fall in line when I leave them with the correct size scoop for one load vs the giant scoop that would allow them to overfill. UD |
