Can a 2.6 capacity front load washer hold / clean a double / full size comforter? I haven't seen one on display to compare, if anyone can help.
Tks

Yes easily unless it is VERY thick or over 18 pounds in weight.

Interesting

since the sales staff I spoke with on the phone in two separate stores had conflicting replies.
I'm considering down sizing my machines because I have limited space in the laundry area with no room left for you to deal with a hose or venting problem.

Thank you Combo52

A washer with recirculation pump would handle it better, but any should be capable.

I never had a problem washing them in the 2.2 cf front loaders I had ..No problems at all. I would jam pack those washers .. They wash very well.

the sales staff is the LAST person you should ask, and expect an honest answer....

always ask a mechanic, or someone who actually owns and uses one....now or in the past.....

I have a washer like this, which is not much bigger than what your considering, and handles a king size quilt with no issues....

Much will depend upon what sort of filling inside comforter or quilt.

Down and feathers will compact quite a lot once wet and or air expelled. Polyester and other man made fibers will not.

You'd be surprised at how even a large king sized down duvet looks like nothing by end of washing after final spin has removed air/water. In fact many front loaders with a dedicated "duvet" cycle begin with spinning item first to remove air/flatten.

should be fine

I have a Maytag 2.4 cu/ft machine and it does a full size poly flll comforter with no issue, no issue with doing down filled duvet in it either.

Downsizing

won't be so difficult after reading this, just making a decision on which set to buy, as there are not many choices out there after some of the reviews I've read on what is available to buy.
Tks

Depending on investment scale, Miele offers awesome machines (and heatpump dryers) while Electrolux has the better value.
