A Friend of my wife gave us this washer for my daughter & her fiancé, however I confiscated it. They can have the GE my son gave us. I like this washer just wish it was a suds saver. Only problem I wish I can figure how it override the lid switch. Sorry for the poor picture quality but I have a flip phone.

It may have the lid switch hidden under the top deck, triggered by the right (or left) lid hinge.

I used one of these same machines when we stayed at a mountain cabin about a year ago.  It was loud and clunky, but maybe that could have been resolved by simple replacement of some inexpensive parts.  For sure one of these machines will outlast any of their contemporaries made by GE.
