it's been awhile since I've done any kitchenaid repair and I forget. are pump seals for the 18 models still available thru Hobart? I remember I got seals for some 17 and earlier models from them as they were the same as the seals in their commercial machines.

I have a kds-18 that I just dug out of the barn and decided to work on. the pump seal I have might be ok, been about 5 years since I tested it, would like to pick up a new seal for it anyway.

any info you guys can supply would be appreciated.

and I still have that maytag top loader from the 70's that I would like to find a good home for. it's free, it worked fine last time I used it and it's harvest gold. I'm in the Cincinnati area.

thanks

Still available

But do you want to pay $86.51 to your local Hobart office (or use their E-store and buy direct at the same price?)
Hobart's part number is 00-435102

I am sure you can still purchase the FSP equivalent on Ebay or Amazon. You just have to have the old part number for it.
Hope that helps.
Steve

i will check around, you're right I won't pay that price. i'll just put it together and use/play with it until this seal starts leaking, then strip it down and pitch the tub if I can't find a seal cheaper. my old days of buying dishwasher parts at premium prices are over!

FSP PN is 4162139. Several are available out on ebay for pennies on the dollar, compared to the Hobart price.

I checked e bay and there a lot of them there for 10 bucks or less including shipping. I also found the seal kits for the 17 series which I still have a bunch of machines. I will get a couple of each.

anyone have the part no. for the older 14-15 series machines? I did buy from Hobart but I think I got the last 2 in existence from them about 10 yrs. ago. wondering if perhaps there is some on e bay?

thanks again guys!

Here you go!

The 15/16/17 series use the same seals. They are interchangeable as the pumps were basically the same.
The 12 and 14 series with the vertical pumps used part number 077107 which have long since disappeared from the world. You may want to try Vintage Parts as whatever Hobart had, they sold to them if any actually remained when they cleared out their obsolete stock.

I have several 14 models and a couple 12's, one worked great last time I used it. but if I could find a couple seals I would pick them up if not too pricey. again thanks for all the help! if I find any of the older defunct seals I will post here.

Main Seals For WP, KA and MT DWs

combo52's profile picture

You can use the same spring loaded carbon and neopreme seal in KA KD-15 through the WP built machines of the 25 series.

Also the same seal fits MT DWs from the begenning till the tall tub models in the early 2000s.

And the same seal fits WP DWs from about 1973 through the end of the standard tub power clean DWs around 2009.

I always bought these seals under a MT Pt# by the bag full new for about $6 a piece.

I will check it out online now.

also, I know you are an expert on appliance info, like steve is on kitchenaids, do you know if there is a way I can get an agitator arm (I believe it's called) for my Frigidaire 1-18?

I rebuilt the 1-18 about 10 years ago with new seal and other goodies, it worked great till one day the agitate shaft unscrewed from the agitate arm and this caused the arm to become damaged in the ball socket. it cannot be used anymore. I would love to get this machine running again. any info appreciated.
