Three of the washers in this All advertisment were just like one's members of my family owned. My Aunt Imogene owned a Westinghouse Slant Front and my Aunt Louise owned a Norge Timeline just like the ones in the front row. And my maternal Grandma owned a GE FF like the one in the middle of the back row. Grandma used ALL, but Aunt Imogene used Dash and I’m not sure what detergent Aunt Louise used, probably whatever was on sale.
I always paid close attention to everyones appliances, especially their washers. Eddie This post was last edited 11/15/2018 at 02:37 |

Hi.
That GE is not a Filter Flo. That is the first washer I remember as a child growing up Left Dial was the Wash Temp. Hot, Warm and Off. Right Dial was the Cycle Dial. Started at 12 minutes and marked down to 2. In the center was a flat Green Bar that was the Water Saver. It did have the Suds Kill a minute or so into the first After Wash Spin. And the last Spin was labeled "Dry". The pump during the Wash had a very Thorat-ee sound. Handsome Machine. With the Gold Backsplash Accent and the strip that said "Automatic Washer". |

Thanks for the clarification Tom and Eddie about the GE in the back row. After I posted I looked again, and it doesn’t have the same look as the first FF, which is what Grandma had.
They moved into a new tracked home in 1956 that was all electric, with a GE combo in the kitchen next to the DW. All the new owners had problems with these combos, so GE gave them all an new FF set, they took the guts out of the combos, but left the front of the machines in place, so they were non functional phantom GE combos. so the owners wouldn’t have an unfilled space in their new kitchens.
