Tappan Range

The house in Houston I built in late fall 1984 and moved into spring 1985, had this range, but almond color. The builder upgraded for me and didn't charge me. They even put in extra lighting in the kitchen for me.

I moved in March of 1985 and moved to where I am January 1986. I cleaned the oven right before I moved. At least I can say I did have a range with a panel light. The oven had a pre-heat setting. There was a little display just above the burner knobs that showed where it was off and then as you increased heat level, the color changed from green to yellow to orange to red. It took me another 31 years before I hade a self-cleaning oven again. Other than the 10 month respite in the house that had this range, I have been saddled with a horrible continuous clean oven from July 1980 through May 2017.
