Although I once owned a 1971 Lady Kenmore washing machine and loved its ease of operation and flexible features, I find it interesting that Sears touted its 1970 machine as the “world’s most perfected washer.” That’s quite a statement! Wonder if there was any official data to substantiate that claim? Other manufacturers were using the same no-thinking push-button operation at that time...

Cycle Color schemes

Note in the upper row of buttons that the "Cottons/Linens White" and Permanent Press White" have a magenta strip (as do the "Colored" selections) instead of a white one. Was that how that washer originally appeared or did they alter the white strips with the magenta?

Well, I don't know of anyone who was offering more features for the PRICE POINT as Kenmore was.

Steve is right,,,,

And that's part of what is wrong at Sears, Now their appliances are as high as or higher priced as anything else, Used to be a Lady Kenmore could be bought for say 299.00 when a Whirlpool with less features was 349 or more, And a Maytag with less features was nearly 500!
