I can't help and read negative reviews and notice that in the last few years there has been a steady increase in them as a result of customer error. And I mean real obvious errors. The replies from the manufacturer aren't any more productive. Not sure if those answering themselves are unaware, copy and pasting or simply don't want to put the blame the customer.

Here is the latest example I came across today:

Here is the actual review:

"No wonder it's so cheap! Per Amana, you have to turn on the sink hot water before running dishwasher so detergent bar can dissolve + you have to buy a rinse aid in order for the heat dry feature to work! I've had Kitchenaide and did not have to do any of the above. So mad that I got Amana!"

And the reply from Amana:

"Response from AmanaTeamOctober 8, 2018

NJOY, we regret that you're not totally satisfied with your new Dishwasher. We manufacture several different models with various features and designs. We are sorry if some operating characteristic or feature is unsatisfactory, and we apologize for any inconvenience this concern has caused you. Your concerns will be documented in the appropriate manner."

Majority of the general public really doesn't understand how appliances work.  I often read review on Epinions (it shut down a couple years ago) ... crazy stuff was there.

I don't use negative reviews to make any decision.  They are consistently provided by people who are clueless about how things work.  Some of these people need to see a reply from an entity other than the manufacturer that tells them how fukcing stupid they are.

I wanted to reply that there isn't a DW in the world that will dispense with a giant wood cutting board resting on the dispenser door, but unlike Amazon there does not appear to be a way to comment.

After a lifetime in retail (which I wouldn't wish on anyone) I have come to realize there are some individuals that simply are not satisfied with the very best of anything. Because of my back disability, I order a lot of stuff on Amazon. I like their customer reviews. I've contributed a number of them and unless I'm mean-mouthing someone or something by a name that can get Amazon in trouble, they're always published. I read all Amazon customer reviews objectively and find them helpful in making my buying decision. I've never been a fan of Consumer Reports magazine. Their reviews may be interesting to read but I don't put much faith in them, regardless of how much "scientific" testing they do.

I particularly like negative reviews that complain that the package was hard to open, color didn't match, etc.
