Looks like it still takes half a day (8 hours per one review) to do a load and there is no mention of water heating, but for double the cost ($3100) of the other two models it does offer heat pump technology.

I bought two magazine subscriptions through Publishers' Clearing House and they are hounding me to do searches to remain in the running for a prize I will never win so I search for the most esoteric terms I can think of and this is today's.

Then There is This One

I'm not sure of the brand, but you can buy it through WalMart. You can choose between vented or condenser drying and it has 15 patents! It has a 1.6 Cu. Ft capacity, but they talk about 13 lb. loads and why would you want to put two towels in with your queen sheets and pillow cases which would dry much faster than towels?

CU Remembers Kenmore Combos of the 60s

If you tab down, you will see a coppertone Lady Kenmore Combo in a Sears ad. Of course, it did not take over 4 hours to wash and dry a load.

The word of these publications that don't know industry history, often expressing amazement that something old is new again, should be taken accordingly.
