My paternal grandma used to use a product that went in her philco automatic with my granddads british gas overalls and also i suspect her chef whites too as she used to be a cook. I guess it was a wash booster type thing but not as we know them today. I will describe it as best as i can. Does anybody know what its called in if its still made? It was in a green box same shape as the old bounce when that was sold in a roll. Like a tin foil box. It was a sheet mesh type thing that was made out of the booster itself ie dissolved fully but it may have been chemical fabric coated. Im not sure. It smelled really washing powdery and my nan just used to toss a sheet in with heavy soiled items. It worked really well on my granddads boiler suits on a 60 degree wash and philco bendix were never the most aggresive machines with wash action either. So it must have been good. She also used to use daz or persil non bio with it. But anyway.i wish i had asked her before her passing in 2003. Nick
