New SQ Dryers Hi Jonathan, Congratulations on your new SQ gas dryer purchase.
SQ eliminated the lint filter guard around a yaer ago on all their dryers, it really does not serve much purpose.
As to the rattle these are not the smoothest, quietest dryers ever, but they should not rattle, check for any loose screws relating to the balk-head, burner assembly and cone, rear rollers etc. I would use it a while unless it is really annoying in which case call for service.

My 2013 SQ Dryer Does not have any rattles to it. That's the one thing I like about it. :-) Sounds like they are slipping in the QC department. | ||

Not the place for me to say it- but here goes: The fact SQ was bothered enough to take a piece of plastic away shows they are thinking about cutting costs. Something is wrong, they know they screwed up and now its damage control in progress. I'd fight SQ for the rattling if it does not go away after a few loads.

I think I’ll take it apart after Christmas and see if there’s any loose screws. If that doesn’t fix it then I guess I get to fight them to fix it or take it back. The funny thing is my aunts brand new 27” WP “commercial Maytag” dryer has the exact same rattle from the chassis as my SQ. How odd is that? | ||
