Gauging interest on whether or not to part out my Control Tower Dryer. I can’t imagine parts are easy to come by, and it’s much easier to ship individual items the the whole hulking thing. Heaviest dryer I have ever moved is my guess. Although my Maytag 806 is hardly a light weight either. Let me know if there is a part you need, I believe mine is complete. |

Is it not working? Do you not have space for it? What's behind the push to get rid of it? |

No space. Our living (and storage) situation though solid now, is always possibly within months of ending. I am lightening my load in preparation for the inevitable. If I don’t, a lot of stuff may need to be dumped en masse, and that thought haunts me. The dryer has a dent on the left side and will need someone with the required know how to rewire the mess that’s there now. I will sell the whole thing for $200 (as is) if anybody can get here to pick it up. |

save the motor&fan, idler pulley and shaft, heater assembly if the elements are good, maybe the timer and front rollers, you may be able to sell some of these parts eventually [ they fit all Filterator dryers from 1952-60.
You might also save the chrome pop-metal control panel and tower parts if they are not pitted, otherwise let it go if no one wants the whole thing, the pictures you posted when you got it looked pretty bad. John L. |

Wish I still lived in La Mesa. I'd be there to pick it up in 5 mins! |

After a light partial cleaning. Much of the dent will push out easily i believe. The machine was stored in a desert barn for decades. I have all the knobs and the amazingly heavy solid metal dial indicator. |

I would like it out of here in the next month or two if possible. I can keep it longer if someone needs me to in order to pick it up on a future planned visit to the area. This post was last edited 01/02/2019 at 09:48 |

Okay, i could just go at it and pull off parts until i got out what i need, but i feel should ask first: What is the smart way to disassemble to remove the motor and fan on this thing, the bottom? |
