I've never heard of a Co-Op refrigerator.  To me, the handle evokes Gibson.  Ad contains just this one picture.

That is interesting! In searching, I found only one more reference to a Co-Op brand kitchen appliance, which was a pressure cooker.

Back in the early days, many of the rural electrical utility companies were called Cooperatives, or Co-Ops. This could have been a fridge branded and sold / financed by a rural electrical cooperative. I bet the nameplate on it shows the manufacturer.

CO-OP Appliances

Our Father worked most of his life for various CO-OPs, he first manged a CO-OP grocery store in Elgin Illinois around the time I was conceived, the family then moved to Greenbelt Maryland when I was born and he worked for Greenbelt Consumer Services and in the mid 70s they moved to Minnesota to work for Universal Cooperatives, so we had lots of CO-OP appliances Etc growing up.

We had a CO-OP upright vacuum and an up-right freezer that would be my age, don't know who made the vacuum, but the freezer was a Franklin product [ part of Studebaker Motors ] They also had a CO-OP Wringer Washer [ I don't remember ] and we got a CO-OP automatic washer in 1960 [ MOL Franklin built, like Wizard etc ].

Then when we moved to Beltsville in 1961 we got a new CO-OP gas range and bottom freezer ref, stove built by Dixie and ref by Franklin again. There were also a few smaller items like a cast aluminum pressure cooker made by Presto.

I am not sure who made the ref that is for sale, the model tag may offer clues but would not normally list the name of the company that built it for CO-OP.

Great replies!  Since it's free, I doubt the seller is willing to take more pictures.  :-(
