First I want to thank appnut (Bob) for alerting me to this set.

The owners were so kind to hold them for me for over a week until I had a free weekend to drive down to Silicon Valley area and get them. So today was the day, despite some really nasty weather, but it all worked out and they are temporarily sitting in the garage awaiting clean up and restoration.

Washer does not spin (another wig-wag job for me, I’m sure) and the owner said it took “six hours” to dry a load of clothes in the dryer. Am assuming the heating element is shot, so am glad I got the set for free...the owner insisted on not taking anything for them just as long as they were going to a good home.

The machines have been well taken care of considering their age (model numbers confirm DOB = 1974).

Once I start digging into these I’m sure I will be asking for help and advice to get them back in running order!

Todd I'm thrilled they are finally home.

Now I hope Ken can come to agreement and make arrangements for a certain Maytag portable dishwasher.

If those were mine, I'd put them in the living room.

Glad that the “good home” these are in is YOURS!

Like I said, these are quite rare machines, so may what parts you can get for them will be plentiful, and the well kept and cared for that they are, be everlasting... A hearty congrats on your magnificent find...

Only three years old when they were built..?! I was 10 years old then and would have killed to have that set then — but wait, I finally have it now at the age of 54!

Am hoping the washer spin issue is just a wig-wag and that the dryer needs a new heating element...I am capable of making those repairs and hope to have both washer and dryer in the house laundry room and not relegated with the others in the outdoor laundry garage.

Had the set from '72, no wood grain on the buttons.  Really loved them, lasted 25 years, had I known of folks here back then I could have fixed the issues and odds are they would still be running.

Enjoy!
