There certainly have been! Here's a link to a thread about the 2016 International event that took place in Beltsville MD at our own combo52's museum. Yes, I said museum... LOL
There have been a couple of other international wash-ins there (I was at the 2010 edition in Beltsville also). There are also 'regional' wash-ins. One of our members, moparwash, hosts an annual event on the US East Coast. His last was in June of 2018 and I'm pretty sure there will be one this summer, too! There have been others in Boston (which was filmed and appeared on CBS-TV), California, Peoria, Minneapolis... It's been a while, though! I've been to Jerry's wash-ins in the past, and have always had a good time. Been to John's (Combo52) for none wash-in visits. His collection of appliances is just jaw dropping. Nevertheless, while wash-ins are few and far in-between, they do happen and they are always fun. Just hold on tight, one is bound to pop-up. |
