Yes, that Hamilton washer 'n dryer set, along with Franklin, Blackstone and the other oddball brands?

Did they morph into whatever was a good WCI sphere, or simply die out before such a hideous corporate conglomeration had been founded, which unfortunately the Big-4 of Gibson, Kelvinator, Frigidaire and (White) Westinghouse couldn't escape?

(Anymore to explain?)

The washer

Was just a re badged Norge, the dryer I think they made, but I don't know what happened to the company.

Hamilton Company History

Norge was a division of BorgWarner.

Hamilton marketed the first automatic dryer, which others rebadged (such as Frigidaire and Bendix IIRC?).

Maybe the Hamilton washer was first and Norge rebadged it?

believe the sequence of events was that Hamilton had a pretty well developed dryer that they would OEM to anyone, but they didn't have much experience (from the readings) with hydraulics/water/so forth; so they got the washing machine from Norge to fill their line; from the above timeline in about 1968 they sold their laundry business off to White Consolidated, which continued to produce until the early 70s.

Ross Moore, who invented the automatic domestic clothes dryer went to a sheet metal fabricating company in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. Bendix dryers were not related to Hamilton dryers.
