It's been great to find this wonderful site and meet like minded people. I'm from London and am really interested in the history of our autowashers and their evolution, particulary front-loaders. As a child a neighbour of my gran had a Creda autowasher, frontloader which fascinated me. It had a fairly fast loud spin, not unlike NickUK's Hotpoint 18580. It had a square door, similar to the mid 80s Hoovers and 2 large dials and about 4 buttons. It was bought about 1978. Does anyone know what this might be? I have attached an advert from 1978 which I hope may be of some interest to you all. Many thanks Rob |

Hi there Rob, welcome to the club I have two possible machines that could fit your description. They don't have sqaure doors however which might render them a bit useless but they could still be correct. First of all is the Debonair range which i have no knowledge about, i just know they were produced late 70's, early 80's. Here is a link to the instruction manual which has a picture of the machine. All you need to do is click 'View PDF' to view the instruction book More in next thread Matt CLICK HERE TO GO TO mattywashboy's LINK |

hi once more, next is the Concord machine. My nieghbours had one of these before updating to a Creda Supaspeed. It was there when i was born so i guess it was made early 80's. Hopefully these give you an idea of what the machine your looking for might be. Same with previous link, just click 'View PDF' Matt CLICK HERE TO GO TO mattywashboy's LINK |

Hi Rob.. Looking at your message, i have just had a look through my literature file on Creda, and think i have the brochure from 1977 which shows a double spread on the Super De Luxe Electronic washer..I will scan the pix's when i get a few mins and post them to here..or if you want them to save to file, drop me a line on keefa1976@yahoo.co.uk. The responses I have, have been brilliant. It's great to share these things as pics and info are so hard to find. Keith thanks for your response, I will drop you an email but it would be good to share the pic on here also when you have the time. I have lots of old ads that I can include in threads and I will be sending them as much as possible. Kind regards to all |
