New commercial model Speed Queen washing machine with mechanical timer purchased and installed about 2 months ago.10-16 loads per week. We had initial concern regarding capacity and agitation action. Neither have been an issue. My wife enjoys doing laundry and does so nearly daily. She was apprehensive having no experience with the brand, but is now very satisfied with the purchase. This forum was instrumental in helping us decide on speed queen. Our Samsung front loaders are now regulated to basement comforter and throw rug duties.
Many thanks
Mike

I did the same transition, went from Samsung front loader that came with my house to a 2018 speed queen commercial unit. Overall I am much happier with the Speed Queen but my only frustration is the low spin speed, all the clothes are damp after washing and need much longer dry times. The Samsung front loader was much better at spin drying, but this is the trade-off you have to make I guess. Have you noticed this as well?

Pour water extraction

Just throw the load out of the Speed Queen in the Samsung and set it for an extra rinse and spin and that should be a good compromise when you’re washing heavy fabrics.

Have not had any problems with clothes being too wet . Have used extra rinse on each wash, and cold/cold setting. Dry time about the same as our previous washer, but wash time much shorter actually so much shorter that we have 1-2 loads washed laundry waiting for the dryer to catch up most of the day on Saturdays.Wash = 20 min. Dry =40 min

Are these SQ machines with old-school mechanical controls still made? I looked on the SQ website, and only saw top loaders with "pre-set" cycle selector knobs...NO thank you! I'd rather stick with my Whirlpool Direct Drive and have total control, if these are not made anymore....

They still make them for commercial premises.

Had to set up a "doing business as " in order to persuade the local appliance dealer to order the machine we wanted. I do see a west coast dealer advertising the same machine with free shipping to your house for under 1000.00 800.299.9470
Appliance Connection.

Luke S

Thanks for the info on the Speed Queen commercial washers.
I noticed in the PDF Spec sheet it shows a control panel with a water level control. Do you know the model# for that and if it is available?

Thanks

The link says it is 50Hz and for export. But also says it is a front load washer!

Good eye. I think we can say the “front load” part is certainly a mistake. The 50hz part could also be in error, but if not you have a 20% faster machine (stateside)!
At least according to the link below. Who’s game to try it?

spin-it13,
The PDF data for the commercial home-style showing a picture of a water level selector on the 2018/2019 LWN432SP115TW01 is a error in older Speed Queen literature. Speed Queen used the picture from the 2017 and prior LWN432SP113TW04.

Here is the corrected PDF:
docs.alliancelaundry.com/tech_pdf...
docs.alliancelaundry.com/tech_pdf...

If you want a water level selector and are willing to open the unit up it can be added to the electronic and manual models.

stricklybojack,
I can't find much data on the LWN311SP101NW22 model listed on Appliances Connection that shows a picture of a unit with water level selector. The only thing I found is this document which is dated 2010 greenleafpacific.com/image/PDF/t...
The parts manual for this washer is dated 2011 which makes me think this is a listing error on Appliance Connection.
To add to the weirdness the PDF lists the voltage as 120v 50hz. I can only find a few random small places that use 120v 50hz such as sections of Madagascar and Barbados. Everyone else that uses 50hz uses 220v-240v or 100v such as Japan.

Here is the brochure.
I called Applianceconnection and was quoted a price.
What are the downsides of a one speed SQ?
