Hello everyone I recently found this
Speed Queen washing machine out by the curb about to be scrap metal. So I decided to take it. Right now nothing works. I tried plugging it in, Im not sure if there's something wrong with the electrical cord, or something else. This might be another project I will be working on, but for now can anyone tell me what year it's from? Thanks!

a 80's Raytheon machine......not one of the best designs after the McGraw-Edison buyout....

these are prone to seal failures, belts and pumps....yet a few last forever...

I would check the lid switch first, as these didn't operate without the lid closed...

two screws at the bottom hold the front on.....

I have 3 of those-built 1982,early 1984,late 1984-porcelain tub on the '82,stainless on the 84s.The early '84 has an Emerson motor,GE motors on the other 2.Timers can be erratic on these-that would be one place to look for the trouble.

This Jeep was probably from 1993 or under since it had no third brake light, it's a random picture I found on the internet. However my dad owns a 95 Cherokee 2 door. Pretty rare to see nowadays! Thank you for the information Brendan and Martin!

CFZ, any chance you can post pics of your 3 SQ's? I know thse particular models are iffy in the group because of seal and belt failures, but they happen to be some of my favorites. Would love to see yours!

early '80s marathons

I think that could be done :)-with the '82 for sure-it is in use,the two '84s are in storage. No leakey seals on mine, but there is belt dust all over the base plates of each :)Besides timers, the only other trouble I have had with these is the brake sticking after a period of disuse.
