Orbital, With A Useless Agitator

combo52's profile picture

The best thing Maytag ever did to their washers was the Load Sensor agitator, the better fast short stroke with a LSA finely turns over clothing without dragging the clothes like the old Power-Finn agitators did with the long slow stroke, result better turn over and cleaning with much less clothing wear and lint in the dryers lint filter, prove it your self as we have.

Good news is its easy to upgrade this washer with the advanced LSA.

That pretty much is a newer version of my Maytag A810. Mine does have the helical transmission in it, but I do have a load sensor agitator that I’ve used a bunch of times on that machine, and the load sensor works quite well with the helical transmission

Looks like a LAT9800AAL which it TOL for mechanical timer models.

This is the last generation of the Maytag washers that perform a solid 1 minute spray rinse during the first spin cycle.

Beginning in '94/'95 they started that nonsense (trying to be cordial here) of using two 15 second spray rinses split between the first and final spin. Complete BS and why I don't recommend a mechanical timer Maytag washer model beyond 1993. The only models I know of that escaped this was the TOL digital LAT9900 and LAT9904 that still retained a 1 minute spray rinse from the early A9900 design.
