Hello, everyone. Haven't been on the site for quite sometime. Taking care of my partner of 36 years. Has heart issues and Marfan's syndrome. Plus being sued by his middle brother for money that was given to me to take care of him when their mother died three years ago. That brother took care of her and she died in his care.(whole other story that I will explain at another time). So, my plate is full! Trying to continue a normal life, I came upon this humidifier on Craig's list and picked it up yesterday. It was on Craig's list for a 5 weeks. Price began at $25, then $10. After speaking with the owner last week, free! It was his fathers and he used it for many years. Father died a couple of months ago and he's cleaning out his house. Mostly made of medal and works fine. I doubt I will able to find a replacement filter media. Can't find any information on this brand online.

I really don't see any place to put media in any of the pictures.  It almost looks like it might be simply evaporative.   Is the a drum/wheel missing for the picture?

Given location and name, I'll bet this was a swamp cooler rather than a humidifier...that said, swamp coolers are big humidifiers...perhaps they had the Aspen pads sitting in the Basin or something.

The drum wheels is pic #2. There's two small rollers. One at the top and one at the bottom. The whole mechanism pulls out.

Never seen one quite like that before, with that type of drum wheel.. Mine has a more conventional looking wheel with a foam pad that encircles it as it rotates thru the water.. The little pulley belt that goes from the motor to the pulley of the wheel broke and Im having a hard time find that replacement part.. Seems like all humidifiers these days use those disposable paper wicks.. just a way to make more money I guess.

Your correct that parts are scarce.

I've been using this one for a few days and I can't believe how well it works. Humidity in the house is the highest it's ever been. I haven't been able to find a replacement roto pad but I believe I can fabricate one buy purchasing a long sheet of a/c filter and somehow attaching the ends in a continuous roll.

The paper wick type never last long and clogs up within a month. Yes, it's a money maker for them.

I once had a Sears humidifier with the same type of roto belt, this was from the late 70's early 80's. Also I had I believe was a Presto humidifier from the early to mid 70's with this type of belt also. Don't know if this will help with replacement belts.

Hi Jon, thank you for the tip. I've measured the current belt filter and it should work. Only one company still sells it, so I should buy at least a few.

Is your roto belt the narrow kind? If so, EBay has it from time to time.
