The Wizard Citation states in the ad the washer gives "10" rinses. How many spray rinses did it have? That would have to be 9 spray rinses with one deep overflow rinse. Correct? Unless it was like the Speed Queen and did overflow toward the end of the wash period prior to first spin.

But no match for competition from GE, Maytag & Whirlpool!

Unfortunately there are probably also features like high water usage, difficult service access and frequent & expensive repair bills...

The Wizard Fairy even needs to be a wee big bigger if she is to be WA's answer to Happy Hotpoint...

Would have loved to see one of these in action. Are there any pictures or videos of one of these machines?

Isn't this Robert's "Pig"? Somebody here might be able to direct you to a video on the net.

I think Robert’s “pig” is a later version of this model.

Interesting how Wizard brags about its “square flair” design — was this a dig at Frigidaire? Also the lint filter is woefully similar to Maytag’s not-so-effective filter design...

As regards the 10 rinses, am assuming that nine of those were spray rinses, unless it had a rinse overflow like Norge/Wards and others did...

i used one

my maternal grandmother had one of these and i had the job of pushing the water saver button to start agitation when the water had reached the top of the clothes in the tub. Don't remember the spray rinses but i do remember that pump made some pretty loud noises when pumping the water out of the solid tub during spin.

I will never understand the indexing tub and the "wings" at the top of the agitator. Seems to me like the "wings" would inhibit turnover.

I agree about indexing tubs...they make me dizzy! And can’t see the advantage unless the tub had some type of fins or undulations to add to the scrubbing of the clothes as they swirled around..?
