It's been a while so I thought I'd start one. Does this load qualify? It's certainly dirty enough. I had to chuckle a couple of times throughout this cycle because the time went up and down a couple of times and I suspect it must have something to do with this feature that is supposed to test the water to see how clean (or dirty) the dishes are.

Dirty Bottom Rack.

Clean Top Rack. Looks like we had one flip. Woops! Sorry guys my loads are never neat and orderly like some of them I see posted here. I really need a "Load as you Like" dishwasher.

I would say that is a "Bob Load" for sure. Thanks for sharing. Terry

I am always very heartened to see a dishwasher being used to it's full capacity!!! My brother and his wife use theirs after every meal and it is virtually empty. It drives me crazy.

Bob posts under the name 'appnut'. He is famous for....how should I put this?.....for using every available cubic inch of space when loading washing machines and dishwshers. Hence the term BobLoad®.

Bob Load

Thanks Frigilux! I have a lot in common with Bob. It's a known fact with my family that I can cram everything dirty dish in a diaswasher and they still come out clean. My In-Laws will not let me load theirs as they say I will tear it up. Like hoovermatic my In-Laws use theirs nearly empty with clean dishes in it (they wash them before loading into dw) then complaim why their utitlity bills are so high. Same way with the washer and dryer.

Later!

well it sure looks like Bob is notorious for covering the portal for the GE PowerTower...that's no good. It's a miracle anything on his top racks ever gets clean!

John, please stand corrected. It may appear the portal for the tower is covered, but it NEVER is. All of those loads you see photos of, top rack items came out spotlesss, even the corners!! I know better than to do that.

Bob is truly THE expert - he would never keep his thingy from extending properly into the top rack!! That would be blasphemous!!

No sir,Bob is not a pop-up blocker

I'm still AMAZED that the "Power Tower" can clean the undersides of the entire upper rack in areas, say, where a glass in the top rack is directly over a pot in the bottom, always thought a FULL-SIZE spray arm under the top rack was needed for this.

seriously, GE tower machines are the only ones that i've ever experienced that can clean well. the WCI tower wash Frigidaire machine in my apt. has such weak pressure that the top rack rarely ever comes out clean. I tried enlarging and adding a few strategic holes in the tower, but i didn't help. to no surprise it lowered the pressure. so what i did was epoxy the 2 filter jets and one of the jets on the spray arm.
that really increased pressure. the sprayer RPM is up and the top rack is "better".

That's something i've always loved about GE, and even today in the EngeryStar world, they have the highest volume pumps around. GE machines are the best for pressure. Bar none.

Maytag

I have always had KitchenAids with the upper wash arm and I, too, thought that was needed but quite a while ago, we found an almost unused Maytag convertible portable where the plates go in the bottom gray rack and other stuff goes in the gray top rack. There is a gray wash arm under the lower rack, a gray pop-up tower and a gray wash arm above the top rack. I have tested this machine with a one gallon plastic pitcher in the front left side of the lower rack and a straight-sided 16 oz., soiled with stuck on food, Tupperware container in the rack above it, tilted toward the middle like the instructions say for loading the top rack. The lower rack was largely blocking water to the top rack with 3 more gallon containers and about 5 of the quart size Rubbermaid sports bottles and a pan. I ran the normal cycle, wash, rinse, wash, rinse, rinse & dry. Detergent in both cups, rinse fluid dispenser filled, the temperature sensor for the wash was on and heated dry selected. Everything came out clean and there was no heating delay because the heating element was on during the wash and had heated the water enough to satisfy the sensor at 140 degrees when the sensor took the water's temperature a couple of timer increments from the end of the 2nd wash. Even most of the plastic was dry and not damaged by that big old heating element under the lower rack with the fan blowing. So I have to admit that at least my Maytag's tower does a credible job of washing stuff in the top rack when water from the lower wash arm is blocked from reaching the top rack and things are loaded so that they face the center. The excellent Maytag fine filter prevents redisposition of food soil. The little tiny holes in the wash arms do not throw plastic objects around in the tank. This is my third dishwasher in the kitchen. I don't think it holds as much as the 18s, but I almost have it worked out so that I can take something clean from one machine, use it and plop it in one of the other dishwashers holding dirty dishes and not have to put much away in the cupboards and drawers.
