Hello friends, its the drycleaner. I have a visi-matic that I have used for a few years now without any troubles, just lately the pump stopped working and I had to gravity drain it. I havent gotten under it yet to take the pump apart, I hope the impeller isnt disintegrated like so many before. if it is I can install an electric pump like I have on my dexter quick twin. any advice would be welcomed. thanks the drycleaner

My '48 Kenmore will only gravity drain now. The pump lever somehow wont engage the pump. I am not tearing up the bottom of the washer when gravity drain is just as convenient.

Stan here..(the other dry cleaner)
I don't know about a Vistamatic, but seems I've seen a Maytag wringer rigged up with a modern elecric pump. If I remember, it was hidden under the skirt, and they had installed a toggle switch that tied into the power.
It be nice if yours has a easy fix without adapting it, but seems do able.

I think I fixed the pump

thanks to all for the advice, I took the pump apart yesterday and actually found that the impeller was fine but the Pump shaft was spinning freely in the impeller instead of it being fixed to the shaft, so when the pump ran the shaft was all that was turning. I epoxyed the impeller yesaterday and sealed the pump,so with any luck, it will work. thanks the drycleaner
