Found these manuals on ebay — unfortunately without the actual machines. Am guessing 1964-6ish? What a lovely set!

Todd, this looks like 18 lb. capacity rating--Most likely 1968 or 1969.

Signature-Norge Set

Hi Todd, I would guess that this set is more like 1969-72.

The dryer is the redesigned [ horrible ] two belt design, Norge went in just one try from the most heavily built dryer to the worst over nite with this major redesign, there was not a single part from the earlier dryer used in the new one.

I had this exact dryer in gas and Harvest gold  about four years ago and did a full restoration on it right down to a brand new motor. After I got it done I realized how much effort I had wasted for a dryer that was noisy and leaked lint everywhere. I took out the new motor after offering it on the club and having 0 takers scraped the dryer.

I recognize that shot of the happy family from the literature for my mom's Snorge set that was delivered in December of 1967.  Ward's could have used that same format for a few years, though.  I think my mom's set was the first year for that new style of console.

The dryer is a different model, as Mom's had the full width fold-down door, but the cheap looking consoles are frighteningly familiar more than 50 years later.

I had a similar set years ago.  The washer was spitting oil into the water and the dryer wasn't worth keeping after the washer was condemned for all the reasons John mentioned.

Later, I found a TOL "Her Majesty" washer that didn't work at all.

Apparently Montgomery Ward didn’t fully update their brochures/manuals during the ‘60s. That lovely nuclear family appeared on my grandmother’s 1962 Wards washing machine manual as well. The back page didn’t change much either, with the mid-century drawing of MW along with “your washer has a twin...”

I have to agree about the Norge/Wards dryer...I had a ‘74 model and it blew lint everywhere. Got the clothes dry pretty fast but wasn’t worth the mess.
