Nice looking range. It appears to be Hotpoint's "Sierra Sand" color. I may be wrong, but I think the color was exclusive to Hotpoint. |

This one appears to be a RC490 from 1966. In the catalog that I have it's the TOL 40" range. There is a similar one in the 1968 literature; model # is RC690. This one had the removable Teflon-coated panels in the main oven, rotisserie, meat thermometer, fluorescent lamp and infinite rotary-type controls for the surface units.
The 1964 catalog is the last one to list the available colors; which were Sunburst Yellow, Turquoise Green, Fashion-Finish Coppertone and Petal Pink. After 1964 references to color were vague and something like "each available in any one of Hotpoint's decorator approved color-tones or brushed chrome. Be sure to ask about colors available." Color availability varied by model (applicable to all types of appliances).

I believe the color is as suggested above. Here's a link to a color chip for it offered on Ebay.

And here's a refrigerator brochure from 1967 that includes one shot of this color on the cover. No mention of color names within, and the same "vaguerism" noted above regarding availability. Interesting that the cover features the shaded coppertone and sierra sand, yellow and lots of white - but no avocado. I wonder if initially GE didn't share that color with Hotpoint? GE did not introduce Harvest Gold until Spring 1968.
