So I got in touch with an appliance repair guy and he found me this Kenmore washer a customer traded in . I got it for 20$ . He said it needs a belt and I'm good to go along with some belt drive parts he generously gave me to fix it up.He is my connection as he doesn't like to work on belt drives so he will sell them to me for close to nothing when customers trade them in . It looks clean underneath hardly any rust or corrosion.

Nice find! Looks like one of the last of the Kenmore belt-drives...

Smaller basket

It does have a shorter basket than my other 1978 Kenmore washer

Yes this is probably a 1985 or 1986 model one of the last years for the belt drive. The model number will tell what year it was introduced and the serial number will tell its birth date. Glad you have a connection. Belt drives in my area are rare these days.

He said I was crazy in a humor way because I had interest in belt drive washing machines . He said he doesn't want them and that when he gets them he wants me to to take them I said sure as long as I have room if not I'll post on shoppers square
