Since I have all the stuff I need to do a partial restoration of the DG606, I will begin the restoration/refurbishment process tomorrow, and I will first start by painting the rear panel since it has some rust on it, and I will have some before and after photos of the DG606.

Restoration Of The KDG606 HOH Dryer

Yay, Hi Sean have you connected it to gas to see if the burner assembly is even workable yet ?

The pilot safety on these constant burning gas burner assemblies are often bad and since they contain a lot of mercury they don't make them any longer and they can be hard to find.

John

Combo52, I haven’t hooked mine up to gas yet, and I will have to install the felt seals before I try using it with gas, but I have air fluffed clothes in it and it seems to be pretty quiet in operation. I do hear the gas valve engage when I turn it on, and seems to engage and disengage just fine, but it won’t mean the themalcouple/pilot safety is any good.

Hi Sean, you can easily test the burner assembly to see if the pilot stays lit and burner functions without putting the dryer all together, it would be a shame to do all the work and not be able to use the dryer.

Please call me John

John, I actually think the pilot might work, but I am not so certain about it. I think the DG606 and the A606 were taken out of service sense the push button assembly got stuck and gummed up, and I did free it up and seems to be working now, and the person I bought the A606 and DG606 from said the push buttons were stuck not allowing the dryer to turn on, and they look like they weren’t used for years, and it’s safe to say they sat in storage for 10 years due to the push buttons being stuck on the DG606.
