Louis, I'm so glad you were able to get this! It's my favorite style of GE refrigerator. |

OMG....the effort and time put into to getting these appliances is unreal at times...
rent a truck... drive 3+ hours to get there.... with exceptional help from an AWO member(kudos Scott) to disconnect and remove from the house... 3+ hour return trip....unload fridge next day, another 4+ trip to Jersey to unload remaining appliances.... with traffic, another 6+ hour ride back to Uhaul...and a cab ride home... grateful the appliances were FREE, but tack on your time, renting a truck, mileage, gas and tolls!... buying you dinner somehow just doesn't cover it...… but I was thinking of something along the lines of a stamp commemorating you.....now if I can find that picture of you in the sling....lol the things we do for our vintage collection.... |

Oh trust me, it cost a pretty penny. Example, just to cross the Lincoln tunnel into midtown, $42. I haven't tallied up the total cost, but I'm pretty sure it was more than repairing my old Frost Guard. Scott was a godsend. Without his help, no way I could have handled those heavy appliances. The P7 was actually heavier than the refrigerator!
While exhausting...it was worth it. Beautiful appliances will be enjoyed again and hopefully passed on to future generations. |
