I guess I should have never posted a reference to that Craigslist ad for those Kenmores in Shopper's Square in the first place. I hope you can sell them and make a little profit too. Regardless, it shows you have excellent taste.

Bad Luck

Since I don’t have the skill or the patience to repair these machines I think what I’m gonna do is offer Members my house in Palm Springs for a week if they’ll fix my washers. Oh and I’ll pay their way here..

I forgot to tell you that the GE Filter flow which I love dearly was leaking oil from the agitator post what is that all about!

Hey Rob,

Looks like you ended up doing what I did — as much as I love having the really old vintage machines in the house, I had similar troubles like yours so ended up using a “newer” set (1985 Lady Kenmores with photo attached) as my indoor daily drivers.

And I love your idea of paying tor accommodations and travel to repair your machines — I could do the same thing! I have a few myself needing attention — although I’m not in Palm Springs, I’m in Northern California wine country that might be interesting for someone to visit all expenses paid!

Photo of the front of our house we like to call “Rancho Hacienda Costa Mucho!” It was a major fixer when we bought it a couple years ago and rather than calling it the money pit, we decided on the Spanish wording in keeping with the style of the home..!

I could help repair the machines you have Rberryiii3 since I only live 25 to 30 miles away, and I don’t live too far from Palm Springs

That turquoise Kenmore pair is definitely worth keeping and repairing!  They are works of art!

Personally

I would rather pay to get the Kenmore fixed than deal with a Maytag given my really really terrible luck with every one of them I ever had.

Bad luck

Bad luck. I was very reluctant to put the Maytag’s into daily driver use but they seem to be working out.
I’ve also had bad luck with Maytags I had to stack unit at the cabin in big bear that never worked properly . Anyway the offer still stands anybody who wants to repair my washer and dryer’s You can have the house of course I can’t do anything until the fall because the heat is now coming .
