Hello I’ve just got a vintage Hitachi microwave it’s not as vintage as the Amana radarange you guys have had but the UK was late to the party as ever with microwave ovens. We as a family didn’t get our first one until 1986 a toshiba deltawave. This looks earlier and perhaps commercial. It looks a bit more sympathetic to my 60s themed kitchen it’s very quiet and works well. Do you have any ideas of its age or even better a user manual ?
Many thanks Richard

I'd guess ~1978-82,but these jap units can be hard to date if no MFG.date appears on spec label-often,if parts are date coded, could be "showa"years instead of the "western"calendar years :)"showa '53= 1978 |

A friend has a collection of catalogs that shows this model for sale. So it’s from about 1981-82. The price means it would be £950 in today’s money whereas a similar model today would be £70 !! Thats $1231 how’s that compare with modern U.S models today ?
