Hi all
I have shared these on another site but realise that some may not have seen them as you are not members of dominant social media site! I had the idea to compare washers over the years to see how they have changed. It is interesting to see when new models came out. It is important to remember that machines in catalogues were sometimes sold off as old stock so the timings may not be accurate to the model. I also have fewer catalogues in more recent years. From 1966 to the late 90s there were huge changes, from the original Keymatic, then the wider square door machine shown in 1971. Shortly after the Matchbox and a new look mid 70s. Around 78 came the new 1100. In the 80s the door went flat and then the Electron's arrived. Followed by the Logic's with the last square door machines in the early 90s. Enjoy! Thank you for posting!
Sad we on this side of pond never got more than the Hoover twin tub washers and matching dryers. Early single tub models appear now and then, but don't think many models were sold in USA market. That and or if any weren't just brought along when persons moved house from UK/Europe. |

Thank you all, you are more than welcome.
Wouldn't it be great to have a time machine where you could go back and pick some of these beauties up. Having seen the A3060 from around 1979, I can confirm it is a great machine and surprisingly quiet for a brush motor. The Electron I have isn't as good but I love the look. Of course sometimes we need a little mystery and if we had everything we wished for many of our dreams would be destroyed!! |
