Choose your French door model wisely. The Samsung that came with our house didn't have a shelf tall enough for a milk carton, except in the doors. I like to store milk and other beverages in the coldest part of the fridge, not the warmest. It also had a ridiculous ice bin in the freezer that had to be tilted in order to remove the whole thing, resulting in ice crescents spilling down into the freezer drawer. It completely turned me off to the French door design and I sold it right away. |

Get something from the whirlpool group that has that made an America sticker on it, these come out of the Amana Iowa plant and are better refrigerators than the ones that come out of whirlpools Mexican plant.
Definitely avoid any type of through the door dispenser on the bottom freezer model, it’s way too complicated if you went through the door dispensing get a side-by-side. Unless your kitchen space is so tight that you must have a French door one try to get a model with a single piece refrigerator door again much less trouble more space inside less energy consumption from the one piece door. Good luck with the homeowners warranty, it would be best if you can just get a buyout on it and get a decent refrigerator and not have to fool with the people that represent those warranties. You may want to check the reputation of the company They use and get the name of the technician coming out so you can do a brief background check on them. John |
