That's a great buy. Wish I was there with a truck. I am so bad about buying toys. |

I have one as well only in white and they are the BEST EVER! I am seriously having to restrain myself as I am only an hour away from this unit. But what would a guy do with 2 of them? I'll never wear this one out. Nonetheless, this is one of the nicest machines we have seen in the SS forum ever. Launderess or other members, if you are interested in this washer Email me and I can help you get it. They are worth their weight in gold.

I have that exact washer and matching dryer. Have had many machines over the years and these are by far the best I've owned or used.. |

You can Always have an old or a new clunker to go along with it, I could never imagine only having one washing machine. However it’s nice to have one machine that always works my Speed Queen front loader is never missed a beat in over 15 years I don’t expect that I will ever wear out in my lifetime.

In comparison Miele only rates their current domestic washing machines for about half that amount. Around 10k cycles which works out to be around five (5) normal wash loads per week.
With that in mind it becomes more clear why so many relatively new Miele washers start to have problems when they are barely six or so years old (if not before), while older units ran much longer before issues began cropping up. |

I have a 2004 SQ, put into service in 2008. No issues or repairs, though I did add a fluorescent light panel from an Amana dryer. Used 5-6 times a week for the last 11 years, I've never taken anything out that I thought wasn't clean and well rinsed. Even ground-in dirt and grass come out in the "short" wash time with a quality detergent. |

Greg is right. I only use the short wash, which is still plenty long to clean anything I wash in it. The thing that amazes me is the ruggedness of the SQ compared to the Duet. It is definitely built to commercial duty standards. |

SQ front loaders have (IIRC) always been really nothing more than their commercial/on premises laundry machines wrapped in different styling.
Depending upon where one sits or has sat this was (or is) a good or bad thing. Until recent incarnations most SQ front loaders were very basic (but rugged) washing machines. They didn't offer scores of cycles, have a heater, or anything else you could find with say a Duet or whatever other brands. But they could and did do the job as intended; launder several loads of wash per day, day in and day out for years on end. |
