Does anyone have any reports on this? Is it thick and gloppy? I smelled the offerings at the store this afternoon and they were disgusting. Thank you in advance.

Have Vernel "Rose"

Which smells wonderful in small amounts.

That being said like many other fabric softeners the stuff has a definite shelf life. Sadly bought several bottles of Vernel Rose, but don't use FS in great amounts and or with each load, thus fear most of my stash will "rot" before can finish. Am still on first opened bottle some two years after opening...

Shake, then pour a little of the FS into bottle cap, if it looks "off" (like curdled milk), then I'd take a pass.

Just to say ... and I do like to use it on some items ... liquid fabric softener really is vile stuff.  My AquaSmart flushes/drains the softener dispenser five times.  It doesn't flush on "standard" cycles unless the Softener option is selected but it does always flush on the specialty cycles.  It still collects some waxy residue that discolors black/brown, presumably with mold.  I've used the machine less than 20 times, maybe less 15 times, and don't use softener on every load.  I cleaned out some residue a few mins ago, for the 2nd time.

I bought one bottle of each, the rose and the morning. They should arrive Sunday. I use it on two loads a week, but not a serious amount; mostly for static control. I remember the Tide and the Downy Simple Pleasures in rose and I liked them so I will see if the Vernel can match. I don't use the dispenser. I reset the machine for an extra rinse & spin and add it as the water flows through the wash side of the dispenser. Thank you for the input.

They arrived yesterday. Both are in good condition; not thick and gloppy, but more like the thin formulas like StaPuf. Does anyone remember StaPuf? I loved its fragrance. I plan to use the rose on bed linens and the morning stuff on shirts.

I loved Sta Puf!!! My mother used to use Rain Barrel, haven't seen that one in many years. I really miss the detergents and additives of yesteryear, the new ones just don't compare. Ya'all have my curiosity spiked and will have to look for the rose Vernel next time I'm out. Just bought a small bottle of Final Touch for my Dads clothes, rarely use it much as Im a little hesitant with a septic system.

What gets me with FS is that they just keep making it stronger and stronger scent wise. It use to be good for 2 weeks of freshness, now it's all the way to 45 days. Do Americans really hate doing laundry that much that they keep putting it off for that long? All I really want is just clean and fresh. Found it strange that All Free & Clear now has FS that's Free & Clear, no scent....seems to defeat the purpose. Lol! Still trying to wrap my head around that one.

Free and clear of dyes and perfumes for people with allergies.  I used to use it when I couldn't find fabric softener that complimented the detergent we were using at the time.

Strong-scented laundry products are to cover the resultant stench from washing in cold water with 1 tsp of detergent ...

I'm not certain about the rose stuff, maybe I did not use enough on the sheets, but I really like the Fresh Morning which I used on the peppermint press. The only trouble is that the pouring spout is stuck in the cap so when you unscrew the cap, the spout comes with it.

Barry, I was at HEB this morning.  I noticed their Bravo FS had a free & clear version.  We both like good scents.  He's been using Gain detergent and FS at his house, which I think is overkill.  But he loves it.  I've recently been using Tide 10x Heavy duty liquid detergent and to me it has a subtle, pleasant scent on fabrics when pulled from the dryer.

Bob, where would we be without HEB?!? I really fancy the Bravo laundry product line, have found it cleans about equal to more expensive brands, and smells pretty good....if a little bubble gummy.....but it's my daily driver. Since I've gotten older I've developed a sensitivity to some detergents, but HEB brand is safe for me and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. (Gain nearly put me in ER a couple of years ago). A persons skin sure can change with age!!

I wonder if it is the import duties

Vernel, which used to be Amazon Prime products are not Prime now. The shipping is equal to the cost of the product. Fortunately, fabric softener is not a must-have item.
