Norge 30" Electric Range

I have only seen about 2 other electric ranges built this way, this is basically a gas range with a single electric element taking the place of the gas burner.

Not only do you have a messy inconvenient broiler under the oven but it would also use a lot of power with no insulation under the oven as well as doing a terrible job browning in the oven.

This range is probably worth closer to its original real cost of $109.95, its certainly nothing that would be worth baking or broiling in.

Their first

30 inch model, I don't know why they went back to the pre war element set up on this All the other Norges had 2 element ovens that baked great

Those surface units are fascinating and look like new.

$700 for that? I don't think I ever saw an electric range with a broiler like that...and I've pretty much seen em all.

Why is there a pullout broiler shield at the top of the oven, if the broiling happens in the drawer?

I remember hearing that some of the cheapest Sunray 20" ranges had the setup with the element underneath like this and same alement for broiler as well.

Love the surface elements with the logos in the center caps.

Does this use two incandescent bulbs for the cooktop light? Doesn't look fluorescent.
