Wow, I found this on Ebay. This is my favorite Hoover model. I think it's the first model where the door was recessed into the front instead of sticking out. I think it's early 80s (any ideas??)

I would love to buy it but it's too far. It looks in good condition too. Maybe someone here will be interested.

Yup, that's my mum's first ever washer - an A3110. Absolutely loved this machine, and if she simply bothered to replace the motor brushes and wasn't bothered about the machine not matching the kitchen then it'd probably still be working today!

Jon - I just love the look of this machine. I saw you mention it from another site and 82 was the year your mother bought it which is what I expected for age.

I have only seen one of these work and I think it's final spin went up in 3 stages 500, 800 and 1100. It sounded smooth but was noisy, but then that's half the fun!

Every home should have a classic hoover:D now mine has ressurected theres a motor for sale on ebay which i think i'd be to stupid not to buy.

if only the A3110 wasn't so far away i'd snap it up. lol jon was round my house when we saw it! we were both in shock and both has the same frown when we saw its location!
