Looks like it was built by G.E. Am I correct on this thinking?

Yes, it's a Hotpoint/GE built dryer.

Speaking of GE built machines (Sorry to hijack. My apologies)

I am surprized no one covets the GE machines that had a Sears Kenmore badge. Does anyone know during what years Sears used GE manufactured machines?

I think when I start collecting again in earnest, I will try to find some of these.

No, and I never knew about this. Do you have an answer and, better still, any pictures? Were these rebadged Filter-flo's?

and what does it mean when someone says that their aunt filter-flo is visiting?

GE HAS NEVER MADE ANY KENMORE WASHERS OR DRYERS

To my knowledge the only manufacturers that have made Kenmore Washers and Dryers are: Whirlpool, and Frigidaire.FYI: Ge's standard size dryers are made by frigidaire (they have the same door, lint trap etc). PATRICK COFFEY

~What does it mean when someone says that their aunt filter-flo is visiting?
~OMG it means not only liquids but chunks of lint-ball turdettes. Quick haul it to the doctor! Seal it up with concrete and a few stitches!

Ok, so what about that small front-loader badged by Sears years ago that flopped? Who made that?

But it's a GE and Kenmore dryer that is built by Electrolux, to accompany the FriGEmore washers. Not sure if Sears still has the Frigemores.

So that's a Frigidaire built dryer? Hmmmm,my parts guy told me the General built it.It looks like some RCA and Hotpoint dryers that have come through recently.

Lawd

all this outsourcing and rebadging. wonder if in about a year, they will just stick on a plastic decal with the brand name of your choice at the time of delivery.

I think what happens is that GE lets Electrolux build some of the lower priced GE and Hotpoint dryers and the dryers that accompany the Kenmore front loader. If you go to Home Depot and look at the small GE frontload washer, the dryer looks exactly like a Frigidaire or White-Westinghouse dryer. The large GE dryer are made by GE but the inside and the door are different. So actually, you are all right, it is a GE, Kenmore, (and Electrolux) dryer.

It's cheaper to source low-end dryers from Electrolux/Frigidaire than it is for Genital Electric to build them. Their higher end dryers are built by GE in Canada.

The Kenmore on the right is a Whirlpool 27" dryer - let me guess, a bad motor?

To whoever does that CADD of the GE appliances....

neptunebob's profile picture
Could you do a rendering of the Electrolux GE and Kenmore dryer and a "real" GE dryer? We might be able to tell the difference if you would. Thanks, Nep.

Truly truly I say unto you. I had seen classic FF GEs with a SEARS badge.

Never did acid so I'm not tripping.
I just wish I remembered the year.

GE made window air conditioners for Sears in the 80s.
