Range, refrigerator and hood - seller claims none have ever been used.  Not TOL by any means, but definitely clean.

$500 for all in Evansville, IN

That would be

A FANTASTIC set The range is unused you can tell by the oven gasket and the medallions in the center of the units and the fridge is my favorite style non frost free.

Still has

An appliance outlet like all ranges should and would not have the stupid push to turn knobs Last good ranges in my book, If it was anything other than baby shit yellow or vomicado it would be worth what they are asking.

My stove also has the outlet like that. Other than an electric coffee pot, what is the purpose of this outlet?

Mixer

Etc the main thing was Most houses had poor weak wiring when electric ranges first came out The outlet gave you a high wattage outlet to plug in your waffle iron, iron or roaster etc For example, Our house was built in 1950 All the kitchen and dining room receptacles and lights are on one 15 amp circuit So if you plug in a roaster you automatically have maxed out the circuit the range outlet is where I ALWAYS hook up my electric frying pan, griddle, iron, vacuum etc I cant do without it

Nice Hotpoint

That range is a fancier version of the Hotpoint my friend Jay has in Avocado. His lacks the window and clock. I helped him move it out to clean one time, and it was rather heavy.

Electric Range Outlet Was Good For

combo52's profile picture

Portable DW, Electric Iron, etc etc.

As Hans said they were a boom in their day, but could be a safety hazard from cords being close to hot burners and range manufactures were glad to get rid of them, this is an example of safety regulations that manufactures loved because it saved them money and because everyone got rid of outlets at the same time it did not cost any manufacturer any lost range sales.

Jay's came with his condo that he has owned since the early 90's. It is original to the building, which was built in 1972 as apartments. He said the complex was equiped with all Hotpoint when new, including air conditioners.
