Not sure where to put this, but since the book deals with old automatics, I will try here and it can be moved if it is not situated correctly.

Friday we received a publisher's catalog of books scheduled for the coming season. An angel turned the catalog to the page with this new title. Here is the description: "Photographer Joshua Blackburn has made it his mission to photograph every laundromat in London (for a total of more than 400). As high streets grow ever more homogeneous, these are one of the few businesses that retain their striking individuality. But they are an endangered species as many close every year across the UK. The colors, signs, machines, surfaces and geometry of these spaces are irresistible and the new book features more than 100 images that capture the colorful design and community spirit of the humble launderette."

It is listed for US$19.95/CDN$26.95 and scheduled for release in October 2019. The publisher is Haxton Mini Press and the ISBN is 9781910566602.  It is 7 by 6.25 inches, with 144 pages and 120 color photographs.

I don't know if any here remember My Beautiful Launderette in the 1980s. People in the theater turned as we gasped when a hammer was taken to a turquoise Frigidaire with three ring agitator. We were the only ones so moved and this theater was at Dupont Circle.

The cover of this book features a photo of colorful Cissel  dryers with the vertical sliding temperature selector and the coin meter with the knob that accepts a coin when the arrow points to the slot and then starts the dryer when turned to the left.
